Gershom Masimba Mtambalika stands as the driving force behind the Malawi Under-19 cricket team and the Malawi men's national teams, spearheading their extraordinary achievements in 2024. He successfully led the Malawi Women’s U19s to emerge champions of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers in Rwanda. The team won all its 6 matches against Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Botswana, Sierra Leone and Kenya. With this great fit the Malawi Women’s U19s qualified for the Africa Division Qualifiers for the first time in the country’s history. Gershom's prowess and outstanding dedication have set a new benchmark for cricket excellence in Malawi and the African region.
